Im Jahre 2008 bis zum Jahre 2009 erlebte Simbabwe eine Hyperinflation. Gold wurde zum ultimativen Zahlungsmittel, d.h. nur die Einwohner welche Gold besa\u00dfen blieben handlungsf\u00e4hig. Auch Silber wurde als Zahlungsmittel akzeptiert. Die staatliche W\u00e4hrung \u201eSimbabwe-Dollar\u201c hingegen war so gut wie wertlos.<\/p>\n

Am Ende der Hyperinflation in Simbabwe wurden vom deutschen Hersteller Giesecke & Devrient Banknoten im Nominalwert von 1 Trillion Simbabwe-Dollar gedruckt. Sie kamen aber angeblich nie in Umlauf, weil der Materialwert der Scheine die Kaufkraft des Zettels bereits um ein vielfaches \u00fcberstieg, als das Geld zur Auslieferung kommen sollte.
\nDas Video zeigt eindrucksvoll, wie in sehr kurzen Zeitabst\u00e4nden immer mehr Geldscheine mit immer gr\u00f6\u00dferen Zahlen in Umlauf kamen, wie rasend der auf dem Papier versprochene Geldwert vernichtet werden kann und wie eine Hyperinflation vonstatten geht.<\/p>\n
